How do I install version 2025 on Windows 7 or 8?
Version 2025 uses some new technologies that will work only on Windows 10 and later. The normal version 2025 setup will work only on Windows 10, Windows 11 and later.
To accommodate our customers who are still using Windows 7 and Windows 8, we have released a special legacy version setup of the software. It uses some older software components, but provides almost all new features except for updated Chrome preview.
To install version 2025 on Windows 7 or 8:
- Go to WeBuilder download page.
- Download the legacy version (not the regular one) from the download page. It has a separate download link at the bottom.
- Install and use it normally.
Important notes
Special legacy version has the following limitations:
- It is not available for HTMLPad and Rapid CSS, but you can use the sister-product WeBuilder which looks and works the same and has all the same features and, in addition, offers much more.
- It will receive rare and limited updates and there will not be such legacy version for the next generations of our code editors, so it is really a temporary solution for a few years.
